Last evening at the pumpkin hub

The shed was packed with both pumpkins and pumpkin artists yesterday. The show opens on Thursday. Lots of beautiful pumpkin artwork being crafted.

Work starting on a new house portrait

Dog Portrait, oil on panel, 16 x 20 inches

I finished a commissioned pet portrait last week, in oil paint. I haven't met the dog personally, but in the photos I was provided she looked like an incredibly sweet dog.

I draw this with a mixture of disposable technical pens and sumi ink with dip pens.  It's a pretty house, and I was especially enjoying the shadows of the trees.

8 x 10 inches.  This was a combination of Pigma Micron pens and sumi ink with a dip pen.

Coffee lightfastness test

Here is the result of a light exposure test for drawing or painting with coffee. This ran from March 19 to May 8.

So far, the coffee is relatively lightfast.  I expected much more fading than is evident.

The experiment is continuing.
